The twentieth century Turin was not only an important industrial city but also a great city of the middle classes: a city where, in spite of growing inequality, social differences seemed destined to fade over time due to a progressive expansion of income, consumption and welfare. The book observes residential buildings for middle class built in Turin in the decades after World War II: an urban expansion period in which a significant portion of the construction of new production turned to social groups that pointed to a higher level comfort.
